About West

West High School prides itself on not only our rich diversity of students, but also on the variety of career pathways we provide our students. West High School is home to a variety of innovative approaches to learning, including being just one of thirteen high schools in Wisconsin to offer an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme

School Mission
We develop empowered learners committed to integrity.

Why?
Our students deserve the best.

Why Choose West?

  • We offer an IB Diploma Programme with an internationally-minded curriculum that allows students to advance their learning through an inquiry-based approach. Students are taught to be risk-takers, communicators, balanced thinkers, principled, open-minded, reflective and caring. Students who complete the IB Diploma Programme are well-prepared to excel in post-secondary education or another path of their choosing. We are in the process of becoming an authorized IB Middle Years Programme school to serve students aged 11-16.
  • West offers Advanced Placement (AP) and Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) credit options. Many of these programs such as the Certified Nursing Assistant program, Bay Link Manufacturing job-shop and Bridges Construction & Renovation program allow students to apply their knowledge in real-world situations and earn college credit.
  • More than half of our students participate in a college level course during their senior year, and graduate with college credit.
