Testing
The Career Center is also home to various standardized testing help, including the ACCUPLACER, the ACT, and the SAT/PSAT.
ACCUPLACER
The ACCUPLACER is a test similar to the ACT that students take to gain entrance into technical schools. There are three general sections to the ACCUPLACER: Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Arithmetic. Green Bay West High School has a partnership with NWTC that allows students to test at West High School free of charge. Students may also take the ACCUPLACER at NWTC for a $20 fee.
Students may register to take the ACCUPLACER in the Career Center. Tests are given on an individual basis.
The scores that a student must get on his/her ACCUPLACER vary by program. To view these scores by program, you can visit the NWTC Academic Advising webpage. There will be a document available for download under the "admissions requirements" heading.
If a student wishes to attend a school other than NWTC, but still needs to take the ACCUPLACER, he/she may still test in the Career Center, but will have to sign a release form to send the scores to another college.

SAT & PSAT
The SAT is a standardized test that some colleges and universities require for admission. The majority of these institutions are outside of Wisconsin.
The PSAT is not a requirement for college admission. The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT and for the ACT that many juniors and even sophomores choose to take.
