As we look forward to the beginning of the 20-21 school year, we have a few updates to share with our families.
What will school look like this fall?
- We are starting the school year virtually
- High School students will need to be available for learning each day during normal school hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be a student workday, time for meeting with teachers for homework help, and meeting with school staff for any other needs.
- An Advisory/Homeroom period will be held each day. This period will include taking attendance, learning study skills, test prep practice, restorative circles, and updates/check-ins for all students.
West Registration
- August 19 from 2-6 pm AND August 20 from 7 am – 3 pm
- Students can receive their IDs, and all students will be given a registration packet with information that will need to be completed and returned to the school.
- For students unable to attend Registration, their informational packet will be mailed home.
Free/Reduced Lunch Application:
- This application should be completed by all families, even though all West students are offered no-cost breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- During normal school years, qualifying families will have general school fees waived. This year, general school fees are being waived for ALL families.
- Families who complete the application and qualify for free/reduced lunches may also have testing fees waived. (applicable for IB testing, AP testing and other expenses)
Student Computers
- Computers will be available to check out during registration for those who do not already have a Chromebook checked out to them.
- Computers may also be mailed home. Be sure that your household address on file is correct.
Moving forward, help us get back to school!
- Wear a mask whenever you are out in public.
- Continue to social distance.
- Stay home whenever you can
