West High School hosted its 2nd Annual African American Author Readathon on February 27, 2026.

To honor Black History Month, students, staff, and community members read works by Black authors, speakers, and poets throughout the school day.

To kick things off, Principal McNabb read "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou. The West High School Concert Choir then performed the song "Witness."
